JPG, PNG, or WebP: which should creators use?
The best image format depends on the content. Creator workflows often mix screenshots, thumbnails, product photos, transparent graphics, and quick drafts, so one format rarely fits every file.
Use JPG for photos
JPG is practical for photos and rich images without transparency. It is widely supported and gives predictable results when you need a simple compatibility format.
Use PNG for sharp graphics
PNG is useful for crisp screenshots, UI captures, logos, and images with transparency. The tradeoff is that PNG files can be much larger than WebP or JPG.
Use WebP for smaller web assets
WebP is often a strong choice for website images, thumbnails, and creator assets where file size matters. It can handle photos and many graphics efficiently.
