WEBM to MP4 for OBS and browser recordings

WEBM is common for browser captures and some recording workflows, but MP4 is often easier to use in slide decks, editors, chat apps, and publishing platforms. A local browser converter is useful when the file is a private draft or client-facing clip.

When MP4 helps

MP4 is a good target when you need wider playback compatibility, a file that imports into presentation tools, or a clip that can be reviewed quickly on phones and desktops.

Preset notes

PowerPoint compatible keeps a balanced H.264 MP4 target. Social upload uses a slightly higher quality setting. Small file lowers bitrate pressure for drafts and size-limited shares.

Privacy note

Use local conversion for files already on your device. Very large recordings can take longer because the browser is doing the conversion work directly.
